Narrow location?

Bike Parking 2.0 is also your solution for narrow locations. For 2-level parking systems, our Lifting Pillars already enable you to reduce the required open area as no room is reserved for pulling out the upper-level rack.

But with our option to place our Sliding Racks and Lifting Pillars at an angle, even narrow locations can now be changed into parking areas for bicycles.

Normally we place the racks at an angle of 10° in the direction of the arriving cyclist. That makes it convenient for them to park their bicycle. But when you don’t have enough width, then you can also place the racks at 30° and 45°.

In this picture, you can easily see the difference.

Measurements

To enable cyclists to turn their bicycles around, we do recommend a free area of at least 1200 mm when racks are only placed on one side, or 1450 mm when you place racks on both sides of a path.

  • That means that on an area with a width of only 2.675 meters (1475mm + 1200mm), you can already park 35 bicycles on every 10-meter length.
  • When you have a width of just 4.4 meters (1475mm + 1450mm + 1475mm), you can place 70 bicycles on every 10-meter length.

Example

Below you see a picture of how, next to a train station, bicycles were parked at a 30° angle to increase the space for manoeuvring between the racks that are placed on both sides.

Railway station, side parking, 2 racks at 30-degrees, entry from both sides.
